I'll be blunt: I'm a foxhole atheist. 

I've even been told that I'm "hostile to spirituality."  I Don't think that's quite accurate. But it is true that I've little patience with or respect for religion. Nor for dogmas, myths taken literally, and  -isms of most any kind.  It's my somewhat humble opinion that beliefs in divine beings cause far more harm than benefit. if any benefit at all. And believing that evil is a thing out there lurking  around (perhaps incarnate as demons, devils and the like) is just the other side of that worthless coin. It strikes me as ignorant fear mongering. 

I do believe in love though. Just don't see the need to wrap a lot of extra drama around it. Check out the universe (or perhaps even the multiverse). Do we really need something beside our growing awareness  of the universe to feel the deepest awe and most stupendous inspiration?

 Revelation just won't do

 If you want to know what is true
 Don't you want to know what is true?


Now some say I'm a sinner               
Cause I never kneel nor pray     
But I fear no retribution       
Ain't scared of no judgement day     


Cause there ain't no hell nor heaven    
No devil in the deep blue sea      
And I ain't afraid of dying       
And there ain't no ghost in me 


 Cause all we have is awareness   ...

Now I don't need no preacher
Preaching 'bout some master plan
No mystery, love is all I need
& I can do without the middle man 

Don't think I believe in nothing
Cause it ain't what's in your book

It's deeper & bigger & wider

Then in all your gobble-dee-gook
